MAHLKE who was born in Germany in 1836 and immigrated to the USA in 1864 with his wife Augusta ZELLMER Mahlke. After living in Wisconsin for some years, they settled in Balaton, MN, and he managed a flour mill in the area. They had 10 children: Ernest, b. 1863 in Germany; Emma Mahlke SCHMIDT, b. 1865 in Wisc.; Augusta, b. 1867 in Wisc.; Herman, b. 1866 in Wisc.; Paul, b. 1868 in Wisc.; Gustav, b. 1874 in MN; August, b. 1877 in MN; Ida, 870; Bertha Haase, b. 1872; and Albert Haase, b. 1875. Pauline TEUFEL had two children from her marriage to Karl Teufel: Rudolf Frederick TEUFEL, b. 1879, and Ida TEUFEL, b. 1882 in Balaton. They eventually changed the spelling of the last name to TIEFEL.

BUTLER, FERRIN posted by Kathi Desko on Tuesday, November 25, 1997: Need family info on Ida BUTLER from Minneapolis, who attended her "Uncle" Zeb FERRIN's funeral in Jefferson IA in Sept. 1901. Possibly had a brother Charles BUTLER living in Omaha at the time. Also George FERRIN of Minneapolis (probably cousin to Ida) who also attended the funeral.
