I'm looking for Kristen JONASSON, born June 24, 1858 in Sweden. Likely Americanizations of his name are Christian JOHNSON, Chis JOHNSON or something similar. Known to have been alive in 1885 in Paxton. He is thought to have been killed in a somewhat unusual manner before 1905 in Paxton or nearby area. I live in Sweden and am willing to reciprocate with an equal amount of research in Swedish records.

BEAUDOIN and STPIERRE / STPETER families were from Lyons County. Archibald and Phoebe Beaudoin were married 1900 at Ghent. My father was born there. I am rather new at this. I have his birth certificate, but would like to obtain Archibald and Phoebe's marriage license. I think his father, Archibald Sr. died in the County of Lyons. Any help or info on procedures would be appreciated.

RANUM, RYEN posted by Elaine Homan on Monday, July 20, 1998

RANUM, Juel and Guri Ranum immigrated 1870 and lived for a few years in Lyon Co.; according to some accounts, around Cottonwood and Ghent. They moved to Northfield, MN for a few years but returned to Lyon Co. by 1880's to homestead, according to the obit of Juel Ranum. Their only son, Ole married Guri Melby and had 5 children in the Cottonwood and Ghent area. He worked as a buyer for general stores and graneries. I have possession of his blotter book that has the imprint of many letters he wrote during the 1880-1890's. Also looking for RYEN, a last name that was written up in the same obit. This name was supposed to be a relative of Juel?
