Pre homestead and cash entry lands. I am looking for Albert HALVERSON in Lyon County. According to the History of Lyon County he had a farm and the highest point in Lyon County was at his farm. Then another page says Section 28 Albert AND Andrew Halvorson/Halverson in Nordland with Nels Halvorson in the ne and Albert/Andrew in the nw of this section. I can't find a reference in Lyon County anywhere for Albert other than this and do not find land in Albert's name in the BLM records. appreciate your help! Sincerely, Larissa Ruetgen

Hi there ... many Minnesota counties have a "history book" of sorts ... for example, Yellow Medicine has the Arthur Rose book, "The History of Yellow Medicine County," published in 1914. And most counties have a legislative (I think) commissioned book from the 1890s or thereabouts. What I am seeking is such a book for Lyon County, preferably original but otherwise reprinted, and at a reasonable price. I would appreciate any directions in which you are able to point me ... thanks ... Dean Vik
